Aggregate fruit is a botanical term for fruits growing from several ovaries of one flower. Each ovary develops into a small fruit and forms a cluster with other fruits. Where the fleshy part of a fruit is not derived from its ovaries but its hypanthium, for example in strawberries, the aggregate fruit is an accessory fruit. Some aggregate fruits carry their seeds on the outside of their fruiting body.
