Sirloin Steak

Sirloin steaks are cut from the strip loin and contain a bone. It is between 4 and 6 cm thick. With a weight of 1000 to 2000 g per steak it is a very big steak.

Sirloin steaks are typically grilled or barbecued at medium heat. Before it is barbecued the steak is doused with hot fat to seal it and enclose the meat juices. Cooking time is about 10 minutes per centimetre thickness.
